ISUZU Motors South Africa will once again drive the spirit of endurance at this year’s ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 Mossel Bay, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to resilience, performance, and community involvement where endurance athlete, coach, and inspirational mentor Steve Atwell will once again lead a team of everyday South Africans who have been transformed into Ironman competitors.

With unwavering support from ISUZU, Steve Atwell has trained over 1,000 ordinary individuals—from first-time runners and working parents to corporate employees and weekend warriors—helping them achieve what once felt impossible: crossing the Ironman finish line. Through his unique coaching approach, Atwell has unlocked the endurance potential of people from all walks of life, reshaping their physical fitness and mental resilience.

This year, Atwell and a group of his athletes—many of whom are participating in their first 70.3 Ironman—will arrive in Mossel Bay in a convoy of ISUZU vehicles proudly sponsored by ISUZU Motors South Africa (IMSAf). The partnership between Atwell and ISUZU reflects the brand’s core philosophy: endurance, reliability, and the spirit of pushing beyond limits.

“Ironman is all about community and mindset, not just about crossing the finish line, it’s about the journey,” says Atwell. “That’s why the partnership with ISUZU makes sense; their vehicles are built for endurance, and they share that same commitment to helping people go the distance.”

As the title sponsor and official vehicle partner, ISUZU Motors South Africa will once again support the race operations and logistics of the event with ISUZU bakkies and trucks before, during and after the event.

“Ironman is about more than competition; it’s about connection,” says Iviwe Poti, Marketing Manager at ISUZU Motors South Africa. “Every person who trains, volunteers, or cheers from the sidelines embodies the same resilience we celebrate as a brand. That’s why ISUZU’s partnership with Ironman Mossel Bay feels so natural, we are united by endurance and community.”

Among the highlights of this year’s race is seeing everyday ISUZU employees and partners rallying behind the athletes, from engineers and dealers volunteering at the aid station to colleagues cheering from the sidelines. For many in the ISUZU family, Ironman has become more than just a race; it’s a symbol of shared strength and perseverance that unites the brand with the broader South African community.
