The ISUZU Foundation, a partnership between Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) and its Dealer network, has raised over R 200,000 for 13 children’s charities in Nelson Mandela Bay who benefit from the IRONMAN4theKidz charity organisation.

Backed by IMSAf and its nationwide network of over 120 Dealers, the ISUZU Foundation has supported the IRONMAN4theKidz charity since 2022, contributing more than R1.8 million to date. Built on a model of shared contribution, the ISUZU Foundation matches funds raised from every entry, effectively doubling the impact for children’s charities in Nelson Mandela Bay.

“Isuzu Motors South Africa is committed to creating a better life through better transport solutions, driving change and contributing to society in a way that creates value,” said Alastair Hodgson, Department Executive: Business Enablement. “Our role is to be a bridge, connecting people, supporting communities and enabling impact. We are proud of our partnership with IRONMAN4theKidz and together we celebrate a spirit of service that drives meaningful progress.”

Through the IRONMAN4theKidz Charity Trust, funds raised go beyond immediate relief, helping to create safe spaces where children can learn, grow and feel supported. From access to quality education and daily meals to secure shelter, emotional care and developmental programmes, this support addresses the realities many of these children face, often shaped by instability and limited resources. In doing so, the IRONMAN4theKidz Charity not only alleviates present challenges but also restores hope, nurturing potential and opening pathways to a more secure and empowered future.

Gary Stephenson, co-founder of IRONMAN4theKidz Trust, added: “ISUZU Foundation plays a critical  role in enabling us to expand our reach, ensuring we make a positive difference where it matters most. We are incredibly grateful for this longstanding partnership as we continue our commitment to positively influence the future trajectory of the children of South Africa.”

Additionally, ISUZU-sponsored athletes Thamsanqa Gompo, who competed in the ISUZU IRONMAN African Championships; and Akhona Ketwa and Ruan Pretorius, who competed in the Corporate Triathlete Challenge, demonstrated how personal endurance can be transformed into purpose-driven action. Using sport as a vehicle for social impact, Thamsanqa, Akhona and Ruan raised awareness  through their campaign, Racing Beyond the Finish Line, to create opportunities for young people in need.
