The Isuzu Historic Timeline:
1893 Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Company is established
1922 It joins forces with British auto manufacturer, Wolseley Motor Ltd. & together they build the Wolseley A9 passenger car
1934 First mass produced product range is launched carrying the Isuzu name
1949 The name Isuzu Motors comes into being
1971 Isuzu enters into capital alliance with General Motors
1997 Isuzu is given the responsibility of developing diesel technology within the General Motors organization
1998 Isuzu is put in charge of commercial vehicle engineering within the GM organization
2007 A new generation of Isuzu KB bakkies are launched, including the Isuzu KB Extended Cab range
2007 Isuzu joins forces with SADEC and SARPCCO for Operation Mandume, another crime-stopping initiative this time based in Angola and Northern Namibia
2010 At the 72 Hour Endurance Challenge, Isuzu rewrites numerous South African speed and distance records
2011 Isuzu launches the Isuzu Off-Road Academy
Today Isuzu is considered a world-class manufacturer of both light and heavy commercial vehicles and pick-ups, enjoying success in numerous important global markets, including North America, China, the Middle East, Asian nations and South Africa.
